Morning mist…and other thin places

Cades Cove morning mist – surely a thin place

(the Celtic Spirituality notion of a place or a moment where

the veil between this world and the Divine is thin).

Surely these thin places are not just sequestered to the coves of mountains or to shore edges.

I wonder what thin place I will come upon today…in the ” busy-ness” of  living, relating, and walking in this world?

Out of the Mist…

From what seems veiled,

Emerges a thin-place…

Mist/fog always brings me to the Celtic spirituality idea of “thin-places” – where the space between our reality and Mystery isvery thin.   This photo (taken on an early morning last January in Cades Cove, Smoky Mountain National Park) reminds me that out of what seems barren, rises community – three trees standing together in this thin place.
