There’s nothing we can do about it…

DEEP CREEK SUN 3

an icy surface paralyzes the depths of who we are;

a cool façade defends the vulnerability we carry.

thankfully…

hopeful liberation rises daily despite our protests;

Restoration places her warm hand on our icebound spirit;

Light thaws a frozen soul…

we are valued…

we are loved by Love…

there’s nothing we can do about it…

thankfully…

Seven…

22 05 2013

(for the seven children at Plaza Towers Elementary School)

We hold our breath…

hoping those who speak truth most easily will not be silenced;

we long for their voices…

We hold our breath…

while broadcasted horror and devastation needs no voice;

the TV screen holds experienced reality at bay…

surreal…

a dream?

Our breath taken away…

stolen by a pronounced vortex of loss;

Seven…

What do we do with the molten emotions beneath?

What direction do we face?

How are we to be, when others no longer are?

We long for their voices…

Maybe seven spirits…

no…

Seven spirits will speak again through the silence;

through the horror and devastation…

speaking truth most easily, guiding our drifting souls…SCHOOL HOUSE 2

Light’s calling…

2 05 2013

Where does Light call you?

Into the wild…

to play and discover?

to a place of rest…

where Light – full on our face – and silence births peace?

I suspect both…

(These two paintings are by my brother Dale Cochran. I am always fascinated by the play and dance of light on a canvass – and in our living! In the first painting, I love the light and shadows in the woods calling, “Come and play!” In the second, the reminder, as Dale points out, to stop and let the Light shine full on our face! Dale’s website link can be found on the side bar of this blog.)
