Cascading Beauty…

31 08 2012

Flowing waters…

Where have you been?

Where are you going?

Maybe you were still and calm somewhere in your past…

picnics along your banks;

Maybe you will join others on their way…

creating a river community;

But look at yourself now…in this moment…

do you know your beauty?

Even among the rocky terrain you navigate?

Barriers calling forth a song…

a familiar melody cascading into my soul;

Your story speaking to mine…

kindred spirits in conversation…

Creating beautiful cascades!

Sanctuary…

May you find the Sanctuary you seek…

whatever form it takes…

for whatever reason you seek…

rest…

safety…

longing…

Potential…

22 08 2012

It’s ready –-

waiting for you:

potential –-

what can be.

Sail, then, through fears . . .

through doubts . . .

through second-guessing . . .

through storms that blow us to and fro;

With hope and faith —

Into what silently calls you:

into waters of discovery . . .

into the horizon you know to be home;

listening to the Voice whose silent whispers drown the screams of expectations . . .

of “living-up to” . . .

of self-imposed failure . . .

of phantom thoughts telling us “we can’t.”

Do we dare sail toward this Wholeness?

Spirit –- grant courage, strength, and faith to leave the shore for the open seas of promise . . .

of potential . . .

of living waters . . .

of truly living;

to dive into the depths of our longings.

Perspective and Hope…

8 08 2012

What was cannot always be –

abiding in these waters births loneliness…

So from where does my heart gaze?

May it be from the light of hope – which daily rises…

Then what was, abides still –

transformed moment by moment by the dawning of life-giving Light…

Peace…

3 08 2012

There are moments when peace descends upon us like a whisper, and we turn our heart’s ear in hopes of catching the words spoken.

There are moments when we walk into a room and experience a long desired stillness lingering in the air . . . we too easily abandon being for doing –- rushing to chain this sacred moment so we might hold it forever.

There are moments when we realize that peace always abides just outside our window . . . it sometimes takes a new perspective, or a change of circumstances, for us to recognize peace in garments that we have not chosen.

So Peace, may Your whispers echo within my being until when I speak, You speak.

Stillness, give me courage so that I do not expend energy in vain;

seeking to hold onto something that can not be held;

give me courage to be bathed in Your Presence — now.

Peace, like a snow dove, light upon my soul in unexpected ways, opening my eyes to Your constant Love.
